Weddings at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar

The Fairmont Grand Del Mar is a truly special resort that I had the pleasure of experiencing earlier this month.
As a speaker and an educator, I get to travel the world. Still, it’s a lot of from the airport to the stage and back again. Last week was different. Having been invited to experience the hotel as a guest, I was treated to 3 days at the resort and given the opportunity to experience the incredible amenities the resort had to offer; all while getting to spend time with an intimate group of wedding planners from the west coast.
Our welcome party began with a tour of the gold course and a friendly contest to see who could put the golf ball closest to the hole. Super excited to say that it was my first time golfing - ok…putting! But I won! I even did a little happy dance out there on the greens! We were treated to an amazing dinner on a private balcony just above the tennis courts, (which are available for private weddings) and s’mores by the fire!
The next day was spent in the spa, which was hands down one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. The massage was epic, the sauna was perfect, and I laid by the hot tub for about 3 hours, answering emails, reading, and enjoying a batch of their hand crafted tea. I was so relaxed, I almost missed lunch by the pool! The theme was “Rose the Grand Way” and that we did! Lots of pink, a beautiful lunch buffet prepared in the sand, an super cute floats for us all the enjoy.
That night we had dinner at Addison, which is built upon the tenets of authenticity and grandeur. Chef William Bradley’s kitchen is meticulous, immaculate, and so quiet! According to their website, Addison “exemplifies the purity of contemporary haute cuisine” and it has earned the city’s first MICHELIN-star. We enjoyed cocktails on the veranda before heading in to a private dinner by the fireside; 7 courses and each better than the last! Course after course, we wondered how it could possibly get better. And course after course, it did. We capped the night as wedding planners do; drinking big red wines, swapping shoes, trying on diamonds, and sharing stories.
On our last morning together we did water yoga. I’m not going to lie, was the most fun I’ve had in ages! I didn’t think that I was going to like water yoga, but floating on a board, finding my center, and following my breath reminded me of how much I loved the practice! Those 30 minutes have stayed with me since and I’ve even taken a few classes since I’ve returned to Las Vegas. We finished our morning with a poolside breakfast and an inspirational visualization and gratitude session by a wellness coach.
My husband and I love to look at realestate when we travel, and it was then that I realized that hadn’t see any houses lining the golf course. Being based in Las Vegas, we have a lot of golf courses, all dotted and lined with homes. But at the Fairmont, everything was so quiet! Talking with the team I learned that the golf course sits on over 300 acres, and that the designers were intentional in not building houses on the property. They wanted it to feel serene and exclusive.
The entire campus is literally dedicated to supporting your every whim! The team and staff have been together for years, and they are so well trained. They move together and work around each other flawlessly, they feel like a family, and the relationships that they have built with their guests are truly close and personal. Everyone knows each other, everyone respects one another, and there is a sense of camaraderie and affection exists in every interaction you see. After only a few days, butlers knew my name, the gelato barista knew which ice creams my kids like, and the valet knew my husband’s name. We felt like family, and we were welcomed in as if we had been there a hundred times.
If you are looking for a venue to host your destination wedding, you have to look at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar. It’s a stunning space, and they can’t wait to share it with you. And if you’re looking for me, I’ll likely be on the water, doing some sort of yoga!
