Wedding MBA 2018
Wedding MBA 2018 was a tour de force of eduction with over thousands of wedding professionals coming together in Las Vegas. While the wedding industry has been revitalized and legitimized over the past 10 years, I truly believe that the best way to continue to elevate the industry is through education. Specifically, peer to peer education. We can be isolated as small business owners, and the ability to look across a room and recognize yourself in another person is vital to our continued success as an industry. I was honored to have the opportunity to speak once again in not one, but three sessions!
Our discussions ranged from how to properly attract and service an upscale, luxury client to trend spotting for 2019. As a panel, we discussed the importance of brand affiliations and why having your work featured is so vital to the success of your business.
In between sessions, I was hanging out at The Knot booth, which we once again created with the help of our very talented friends at Destinations by Design. The Knot Booth is always a central hub of activity with creatives from all segments of the industry converging in one space to learn about best practices, marketing tips, and new technology.
From gust meet and greets to hosted dinners, I loved having these wonderful people from all across the world in my home town! When in Las Vegas, people expect a party! And during Wedding MBA the party to see and be seen at is produced by The Knot. I have partnered with them for the last 5 years and together we have produced some amazing events. Everything from an enchanted forest to a dark Parisian circus. While I’ve loved working on the design each year, our 2019 Wedding MBA party felt especially important, as we brought our guests to The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. After the horrific shooting that took place last October, we as a community really wanted to support this property and the employees in it. Everyone had an amazing time, and it really allowed so many people to reshape their memories of this space while doing something good for our local community.
As always, I cherish my time with the wedding community and hope that my couples appreciate the value that comes along with my involvement in these events. Every opportunity that I have to teach gives me an opportunity to learn, and I am always looking for ways t be a better planner and designer for my clients.
