When Sabrina called me to discuss her plans to elope in Las Vegas she used words like "elegant" and "luxurious" and "authentic" to describe her perfect day. She wanted to look and feel beautiful, to share a sacred moment with her beloved, Frank, and to do so in a way that told their love story, their way.
Oh, and they wanted a super hero theme...Huh?!?!
I didn't understand it at first, but when I learned that Sabrina & Frank had agreed to meet at a costume party and both arrived dressed as their favorite comic book heroes I thought, "...Yes!..." And so, despite the fact that I would only be 4 days post birth when their wedding day arrived, we set off together to design the wedding of a lifetime!
The first thing we had to do was dress these two. Nothing ordinary would do. Having fallen in love with the idea of a lace overlay and a color scheme which spoke to her days working for Chanel, Sabrina traveled the world, imported fabrics and ultimately designed her dress and veil with Sharon Morgan of Romantasy, San Francisco.
Not to be outdone, but intent on letting his bride shine, Frank coordinated in a custom suit, tailored to perfection, and classic accessories.
On the day of their wedding the lovely ladies from Your Beauty Call arrived at The Mandarin Oriental to prefect Sabrina's look.
Frank's son presented Sabrina with a box of M&M's. Tucked inside were the gold bands lovingly designed by Frank and made by the bride's father and his team at Szirio Jewelers.
From there it was off to meet Frank. This gold wall is killer! Look at those colors!
Keeping their love of nature in mind, we set off to the mountains of Red Rock. John Michael Cooper of Alt F Photography captured some amazing shots!
The two kissed at precisely 7:02 PM, which is 10:02 PM on the East Cost. This time and number holds a very special significance for the two, though they won't share why...
Immediately following their kiss, Frank presented his new wife with a wireless microphone, which he used to serenade her with a song he wrote just for the occasion. Everyone cried! I mean everyone!
In turn, Sabrina presented Frank with a hand crafted, custom designed comic book featuring the two of them! This alter-ego work of art tells their love story in graphic print and is destined to become a family heirloom!
Then it was off to Vintner Grill where we secured a private cabana set one long table and surrounded by lush trees and hanging lights. Delicious food and wine flowed throughout the evening, which ended with a beautiful custom cake featuring, what else...???...Their super-hero monogram! Nearby sat two dolls created in their likeness, and again dressed as Wonder Woman and Aqua Man.
A tremendous "thank you" to Brian Derck who served as the on site Las Vegas Wedding Coordinator.
What I love and adore most about Sabrina & Frank is their commitment - Not only to one another, but to their vision, their story and their personal journey. Throughout the entire planning process they remained steadfast and rue, and they had the wedding unlike any I have ever seen before.
It will forever be remembered, and I will always look to it as an example of true love, dedication and unique expression. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed the wedding!
