After nearly twelve years together and five (yes, FIVE!) children, Halona Grimes married the love of her life, retired NFL player Rocky Bernard, at a classically beautiful wedding at The Four Seasons Las Vegas.
Both Halona and Rocky wanted a wedding that incorporated their children, along with their individual families and cultural traditions with dances, toasts, and speeches. Halona wanted the environment to feel soft and pretty, and she asked for texture - something guests could actually feel. Rocky wanted to eat! His main concern was food; that there was an abundance of it, that it was delicious, and that the menu gave guests a variety.
During the planning process Halona said, "We've been together for years, but to finally be getting married is a celebration. We want everyone to feel that love and to be taken care of." And they were!
From Halona's gorgeous Marissa wedding gown to the drop dead, knock out Badgley Mischka wedding shoes, the bride just dazzled! And Rocky, who already cuts an impressive figure at 6'3, was the perfect gentleman in his tux and white tie.
The children were darling and truly so lovely - just wonderfully behaved and sweet!
And while the kids entertained themselves, Halona got to spend time with her girls. Three of her six bridesmaids were her sisters, truly making this a family affair!
Rocky and Halona couldn't wait to see one another, and met at the grand staircase before the wedding for a private first look. Taking a few photos together helped ease their nerves, and allowed them to enjoy the ceremony.
With family and friends all around them, Halona and Rocky were married in a candlelit ceremony.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while searching for their names on a large mirror, which listed seating assignments in a modern black calligraphy.
While their guests mingles, Halona and Rocky slipped away for a few family photos. What a great group!
Upon entering the Acacia Ballroom, guests found it had been transformed in soft, lavender lighting. A white monogrammed dance floor sat in the middle of the room, with a crystal box hanging overhead. Tall pillars of roses and hydrangea were on the table, with candles everywhere. Guests were loving the three dimensional rosette linens, and the blush satin napkins which had been finished off with crystal rings.
Halona and Rocky took their place in the center of the room, where they shared their fist dance to "All of Me" by John Legend.
After the couple took their seats at the head table, they were entertained with a spirited Native dance in honor of Halona's family. A stream of emotional speeches were given, and dinner was served before Halona & Rocky cut their five tiered hanging cake. As they fed one another DJ Mike Fox brought everyone out onto the dance floor, where they stayed all night long!
As the night came to an end, we found Halona and Rocky in the center of the dance floor, surrounded by family and friends. But it felt as though they were the only two people in the world!
Since the wedding, Halona has become my social media girlfriend! We share pictures of the kids, look back on the wedding, and look forward to the family's next trip to Las Vegas!
Until then, my friends, congratulations on a wedding as beautiful as you are!
