Wedding season is upon us in Las Vegas! The weather is just beautiful, it's a great time for locals and destination brides to travel, and the lighting is just about perfect for all of those amazing, pretty pictures you know you want to get.
September and October are also the months in which the elite of the wedding planning world come together to share, educate, and inspire one another and the community at large. Once again, The Art of Wedding Planning convened at West Elm, allowing brides, grooms, and wedding loves the chance to not only stop in and chat with their creative partners and vendors in all areas, but to participate in a panel discussion with the city's most sought after wedding planners.
Beyond the delicious, yummy goodness put out by Sweet B and Gimme Some Sugar, the stunning images from photographers such as Altf and Adam Frazier, and videography from Memory Lane was a beautiful fashion show highlighting the trends for the upcoming season. The festivities took place among the amazing home decor and furnishings from West Elm.,,And who doesn't love West Elm?!?!? Pillows and candles and frames for days!
I love participating in the panel for The Art of Wedding Planning. Having bought into the idea that "When you know better, you do better" the opportunity to share some tips with couples while also learning from and being inspired by the work of my colleagues. And a quick word on that....Someone recently brought up the idea of competition between wedding planners. While I cannot speak for everyone, I personally find this idea of competition to be ridiculous. It creates this silly notion that if you get something, then I don't while - in fact - the opposite is true.
I do not consider any of these ladies - or any of the wedding planners outside of this panel - to be my competition. I do consider some of them to be my friends, some to be my contemporaries, and all to be an inspiration. There are Las Vegas wedding planners operating at varies levels of capabilities throughout the city that are doing beautiful, interesting work with value. We each have our own distinct personalities and styles, unique ways of communicating, and a wide breath of management techniques. So if you are a bride or groom considering a wedding planner, worry less about finding "the best" wedding planner and focus on finding the wedding planner who is best for you. The one who shares your style, that one that you feel the most comfortable with, and the one you trust to bring your vision to life.
Until then, enjoy the highlight reel and the photos, learn more, be better, and never stop pursing your passion for planning the wedding of your dreams!
