Oh My God! How I love this wedding! And not only because this couple was referred to me by another a guest at Kaitrin & Jason's wedding, but because the bride, Marci, is a total Type-A personality (read: control freak!) who trusted me enough to take her vision and all of the different parts and pull them together into something stunning. Her fiancé, Mike, was finishing his medical school residency, and only wanted to know that he would be meeting her at the end of the aisle.
Having secured The Bellagio as the venue location, and having met with some of the best vendors and creative partners in the city, Marci, her mom, and I were free to just focus on the details of the day. And WOW! The details were everything! But first, a little bit of their love story...
This Grey's Anatomy come-to-life started when Marci spotted Mike studying alone at the University of Cincinnati. She keenly made her way over to him, spent months planning her "study hall" outfits, flirting, and then she finally mustered up the courage the ask him out. Shockingly, he declined, explaining that he had a girlfriend. "WOW!" she thought, " I really misjudged that one!" Six long months later, however, Mike sought Marci out under the guise of needing a referral for an ENT. He slipped in a request for dinner date, and took her to the most romantic restaurant in town - probably to make up for the first time he was unavailable! The two have been inseparable ever since, and a proposal came three years later in that very same restaurant!!
According to Marci, "We chose to get married in Vegas first and foremost so it would be FUN! My parents and I have always loved vacationing in Vegas, and as a little girl I remember seeing brides at the Bellagio, and thought there was nothing more glamorous."
The added bonus was that a destination wedding gave these two the ability to spend quality time with all of their friends and family. The weekend was packed full of activities, starting with the Bachelor and Bachelorette parties on Thursday night. I can't (won't!) speak for the guys, but the girls dined at Holstein's at the Cosmopolitan, traveled by stretch hummer limo, and danced the night away at 1Oak at Mirage. Friday night Marci & Mike were toasted at The Grand Lux Cafe at the Palazzo by all of their wedding guests following their rehearsal.
On the day of the wedding, the ladies primped in a fabulous penthouse suite, while they feasted on Las Vegas' famous In N Out burgers and mimosas!
Can we take a moment and talk about Marci's dress and her overall look? The dress was Amsale and just on another level of sophisticated and sexy. The shoes were gold Louboutins, and all of her accessories were in different shades and level of gilded sparkle.
For their first look, Marci and Mike wanted something serene and private, away from the bustle of family and friends. We whisked them off to an outdoor alcove at Vdara, and gave them some time to enjoy each other.
I pulled a few strings and helped to ensure that the bridal party was able to sneak in a photo shoot at Hyde Nightclub before the ceremony.
On the way back to the ketubah signing, Marci & Mike stopped to take photos in the famed Bellagio Conservatory. The flowers were set to summer, and the colors jumped out - It almost doesn't look real!
There are so many beautiful things to show you! Stay tuned and be on the look out for the Super Luxe Wedding Ceremony at Bellagio Las Vegas - Marci & Mike Part II
