Rustic and Romantic Destination Wedding | Marie & Carlos
Marie and Carlos met in the most modern of ways….Online! But not through a dating website, but through a random Facebook message that Carlos sent Marie. Marie spent a few days debating whether or not she should respond to her handsome messenger. Soon, however, she could not help herself and the two embarked on a three year courtship.
Their three year courtship took the two on many adventures. According to Carlos, he planner his proposal to Marie on a whim, luring her to BOA Steakhouse under the guise of attending a friend’s birthday party. When the dessert menu was presented the custom insert read “Marie, will you marry me?” And there Carlos stood, ring in hand.
As Marie & Carlos began planning, they decided to throw out all familiar tradition. They decided early on that they wanted to treat their guests to a completely unique experience; thus settling on Las Vegas. The Paiute Golf Course, set just a half hour away from the strip, offered up a stunning setting with vast, rolling green mountainsides and sweeping views of the city.
Still, planning from afar became a challenge. A few clicks and scrolls through Instagram lead Marie and Carlos to me!
“I just knew I had to have you,” said Marie. With Carlos agreeing to leave the details to his bride to be and their new wedding planner, Marie and I dove head first into the details and design of the day.
Working alongside the team from Naakiti Floral, Marie dove into the details of the day! And by that, I mean all of the pretty details. No stone was left unturned. No element of the wedding was left untouched. From the lace trim on her silk robe to the staging of her Berta wedding dress...Her shoes, and all of her jewels...Every element of the bride’s wardrobe was beautifully curated with an eye for romance! The groom, ever dapper in his tuxedo, was the ideal match for this gorgeous bride to be!
Marie & Carlos' wedding ceremony took place on the golf course overlooking the valley. The bride emerged from the clubhouse and stepped through two stunning arrangements of roses, hydrangea, and hanging greenery. She walked up the aisle and passed the rows of white garden chairs and blush petals, to her waiting groom. The two exchanged vows beneath an asymmetrical alter dripping with florals in front of their family and friends.
While guests enjoyed a cocktail hour of passed hors d’oeuvres, mixed drinks, and assorted cheeses and roasted vegetables, the newlyweds traveled throughout the grounds taking photos.
Later, they entered the ballroom to the thunderous cheers of their family and friends. The ceiling was dressed with rows of bistro lights, while the tables beneath were dressed with dancing candles intermixed with garlands of greenery and ivory roses.
Hand torn linen menus showcased the night’s offerings. Guest dined on salmon and filet as the newlyweds danced with each other, then with their parents, their bridal party, and eventually with all of their guests. The party took on a life of it’s own with neon bracelets, light up party wands, and Armenian dances that keep the floor full until the wee hours of the night!
Our couple left their reception through a haze of lit sparklers. They departed to their month long honeymoon throughout Europe, taking in the sites, earring gelato, snacking on pizza and pastas and sunning themselves by the ocean.
I just love the love story of Marie & Carlos. Working with them was a dream. Their lives are so beautiful, and knowing that they are out in the world together makes me feel that things are just a little bit brighter, and a little bit better, wherever they are!
