"We don't want a typical Vegas Wedding," Rebecca and Ross said during our first Skype session from half way around the world. "We want something that's really romantic and beautiful, but that makes sense to our family and friends who aren't used to big weddings." Indeed, with guests traveling in from all corners of the world - including the country sides of Ireland, the cities of Australia, and the many countries provinces found in between - planning something that would keep everyone comfortable and connected was this couple's biggest priority!
Beyond that, the bride and groom had very little vision for what they wanted. Sometimes, it felt that we were all planning different weddings! Rebecca wanted something that was glamorous and highly styled, while Ross wanted something that felt a bit cozier and more family orientated. His love of classical music was vital to the ceremony, and her inspiration for the fashion of the day came from the Sex & The City Wedding that didn't happen....
They both wanted something that was iconically Las Vegas, but wanted to insure that the wedding wasn't overshadowed by city itself. Two foodies, they wanted a menu that was over the top and fabulous, but that didn't drag on for hours. And when it came to the cake all they said was, "something clean and modern, with maybe something special, but not too much"....
The result was a wedding that simply took my breath away! A mix of cosmopolitan glamour and old world romance, set in the timeless gardens of The Bellagio, with the lights of the Las Vegas just far enough away to avoid taking center stage. And the cake! Well, it's one of my favorite cake displays of all times!
As always, I like to share a few of my personal photos from throughout the day while we wait for the professional images to come from our friends at AltF Photography. You can get a sneak peek at those on their blog here.
Thank you, Rebecca & Ross, for finding me and for bringing me into your lives! From our FaceTime chats to our sushi date, I will never forget a moment of our time together and I hope to see you both soon stateside, or down under! And thank you to all of the amazing people that came together to create such a beautiful night!
