My dearest, darling friends Rocco and Marek are finally Husband and Husband! And I couldn't be happier!
Having shared their love story with you for the last few years, we have followed their journey through engagement, wedding planning, bumps in the road, and the behind the scenes moments that made their day so heartfelt and wonderful.
Planning a wedding for anyone creates a certain amount of stress - I want to get it right each and every time! But planning for a couple that you know and love, that you have watched grow together and that you consider part of the family....Well, that's a whole other level of special! Having been given the colors of Platinum, Fuchsia, and Glitter ("But glitter isn't a color..." I said. "Um, it is now," I was told...) I set off with my boys to Chicago to create a weekend that was rooted in family and friendship, with a lot of love, a touch of disco, and more sparkle than you can imagine.
Now, I've always maintained that I don't plan "gay" weddings - Just weddings for people in love! But someone gave the wedding weekend it's own Movie Title, billing it "Rocco And Marek's Big Fat Mexican Polish Gay Wedding" and with a few #MaRocco2014 hashtags in place, it stuck! And so in honor of the love and humor these two bring to every occasion, their desire to include everything and everyone, the blending of cultures, and the uniting of these amazing families - I give you now the photos by Antonio Abrego, an emerging talent that captured the day so beautifully!
Rocco and Marek - As one special guest said during the toasting segment of your evening, "You have showed us the way."
Love is love, and I love you two from the very bottom to the top! Thank you and your families for trusting me with such a special day, and thank you for being such an incredible part of our lives!
