Destination Wedding at La Valencia

Introducing weddings at La Valencia with images courtesy of their partners.

As the babies get bigger and the world gets smaller, one of the things I love the most about my job is the ability to work anywhere.  And when anywhere is at La Valencia.....Well, that's just the little pink cherry on a very tasty cake!

Affectionately called "The Pink Lady of La Jolla" and "La V" by it's guests, the resort is not only a historical landmark along the coast, but a stunningly beautiful one.

I was formally introduced to La Valencia at Engage 2016 by the property's wedding specialist, Bobby Fader, but I was familiar with the building long before that.  Still, making a love connection with the in-house wedding specialist allowed me go head over heels into the space in a way that very few could.

While Las Vegas is a wedding destination for many throughout the world, many of our locals seek to escape the desert and plan their own destination elsewhere.  Many choose La Valencia for so many reasons.  The La Valencia specializes in "creating a life time of wonderful memories. Our beautiful boutique hotel has been hosting weddings, receptions, and grand affairs since 1928."  La Valencia features beautiful gardens, delicious food and great service, making it an ideal spot to celebrate love and marriage.

When you check into La V, it's like going home.  Only to one with the most stunning backyard you have ever known.  The staff knows your name.  The chef prepares meals to your liking, in both two beautiful restaurants and through in room dining.  The pool is heated to 82 degrees year round, and there is live music 5 nights a week.  Just steps away you will find Ellen Browning Park where the Sea Lions live and the whales swim by.

But back to Bobby.  He's the one who breathes life into the space and truly makes the experience unforgettable.   I am a great writer, but Bobby says it best when he tells:

It’s all about the little moments

People always ask me what makes me so happy about what I do.  The answer is really easy for me.  I have a job that allows me to create special moments in people’s lives and to truly make an impact on their history and story in a wonderful and amazing way that lasts a life time.  There is great joy in seeing your couples return year after year and to watch their families grow and know that you were able to play a part on such a wonderful beginning.

For me, a wedding with us is never just about the day.  There is a joy in the planning process.  Meeting the friends and family and getting to be creative with the couples.  My vision is to create an experience over the entire weekend that would be unforgettable and stress free.

At the end of the day it’s all about the little moments that happen over the wedding weekend.  It could be the private moment between mother and son, or the simple way the groom looks at the bride when she doesn’t notice.  It’s these little moments that make me every weekend fall in love with love no matter how corny it might sound.

The property is right there, waiting.  And after spending Mother's Day on the property, I will be returning this week to work alongside of the team.  Each time I arrive there something new to discover.  Check it out for yourself and if you are interested in checking our La V for your wedding, let me know.  After all....It feels like home.

Because nothing says romance like roses, orchids, and hydrangea towering in a crystal cylender.
The existing chandeliers are a beautiful touch to the ballroom.
No one does flowers like Karen Tran.
Classical Karen Tran styling down the outer ballroom includes a lush table runner, full arrangements, chair covers, and draping.
One of my favorite elements to include in a wedding is a live action artist.  Karen Tran Wedding.
