A Romantic Outdoor Wedding at Siena Golf Club - Michelle & Michael Tran
The love story of Michelle and Michael is one of my favorites...Having met when Michelle joined a new gym, Mike was the trainer trying desperately to be professional, while Michelle was the new girl who just wouldn't let the sweet guy get away.
When Michelle & Mike first called, we bonded immediately. I loved listening to Michelle tell me about how from the moment she met Mike she just knew that there was something different and special about him, how he was the perfect combination of shy and sweet, but once you get him talking very funny, how she just knew that he would be a great father someday, and that they couldn't wait to start a family.
"Mike is the guy who turned all of my no's into yes'. Before I met Mike, I never wanted to get married, have kids or have a wedding. Within weeks of dating Mike all of those ideas slowly changed, and I found myself saying "yes" without any hesitation. My friends were flabbergasted, but my dad said he always knew I would meet a man who would change my mind. I had never had this feeling before where his happiness was intertwined with my happiness. I knew that I wanted Mike to be my partner in life."
Almost immediately we settled on Siena Golf Club as the location for both the ceremony and reception. Michelle and Mike loved the lush grounds, the water, and the European feel and intimacy of the venue. They especially loved the chef, who was willing to customize their menu and work with their every whim to ensure that their 90 person wedding filled with foodies was blown away!
Having asked for a wedding that is timeless, romantic, and ethereal, we brought in gorgeous, soft colors, beautiful flowers (from Naakiti Floral, natch!) and spectacular lighting. Michelle wanted to move away from pink and towards a deeper peach, setting her wedding apart from many of the other spring time weddings that were taking place.
And on the morning of the wedding, we were all up and so anxious to see these two finally make it official! After attending the private Tea Ceremony at Michael's family home, all of the ladies headed to The Cosmopolitan where they enjoyed champagne, snacks, and beauty services.
At Siena Golf Club, things were touch and go! Michelle dreamed of an outdoor wedding, but rain and wind were threatening the day, and we held off on the set up until the last of the last minute! And then, suddenly, the skies cleared and we raced against the clock, setting up the custom gazebo, flowers, and chairs just in front of he lake, giving Michelle and Michael the wedding they had hoped for!
Afterwards, guests bellied up to the Bubble and Bourbon Bar, which is one of the coolest things we have done! Set upon a plexi table supported by wine barrels, the bar featured a monogrammed ice sculpture, and featured both champagne and bourbon, the new Mr. and Mrs. Tran's drinks of choice!
While guests sampled the hors d'oeuvres and grabbed a drink, we whisked the couple off to for portraits. Siena Golf Club provided a beautiful back drop - each space offered different lighting, with lush greenery, flowering gardens, bridges, and water.
Guests enjoyed our fire side cocktail hour before we took the wedding inside, where Naakiti Floral and Sit on This had set up a white circular dance floor, tables draped in peach linens with gilded chiavari chairs and crushed velvet seat cushions.
The bride and groom entered the reception, taking their place on the floor to their first dance to "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin - such a great, classic song! After dinner and toasts, Michelle honored her new family with a performance of Chinese Lion Dancers from the Las Vegas Kung Fu Academy.
The bride and groom cut into a 4 tied pink and ivory ombre cake, set upon a crystal sequence table linen, and accented with fresh roses. With a chandelier above them, they fed one another sweetly and kissed for their guests.
The rest of the night was full of merriment, music, dancing, and photo booth fun! Post wedding, Michelle and Michael enjoyed a long weekend off in Las Vegas, and then jetted off to Anguilla for a food and wine filled honeymoon.
On a personal note...One of the best things about being a Las Vegas wedding planner with a Las Vegas couple means that we get to go do a lot of very cool things together! I am honored to have been able to be with Michelle when she picked out her wedding gown at Couture Bridal, when she and her girls selected their bridesmaids dresses at Bella Bridesmaids, and when she met with Ella Gagiano, who handled the trifecta of photo, video and photo booth! We went to cake tastings together (thank you, Las Vegas Custom Cakes, for the perfect confection!) and enjoyed coffee meetings, phone calls, and lunch because, well, we could!
But one of my favorite moments (aside from the many lunches I get to share with this kindred-souled foodie!) was when I met Mike at my gym, which he had just begun training at! I am certain he thought that I was a crazy person as I hailed him over from my stair climber, but the moment I told him that I was his wedding planner his face just lit up! The absolute joy and excitement he had was adorable. Despite being a little shy, the one thing he just couldn't hide was how much he loved her and wanted to marry her. And on the day of the wedding, the two of them just beamed!
"All night long, every kiss Mike gave me was like the first," said Michelle. "I couldn't wait to be his wife, and I just feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be able to spend the rest of my life with him."
Much love and so many wishes for the exciting future these two have ahead....
